SHBJJ Academy promotes students exclusively on their mastery of the techniques that will ensure their victory in self-defense and sport jiu jitsu. The Academy rigorously tests each student's skills and reflexes at each stage of their training. Promotions are normally held every 6 months depending on the students technical improvement. For example SHBJJ Academy Blue Belt Qualification Test requires students to demonstrate a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and reflexes in the execution of self-defense and sport BJJ techniques. Because we feel that the fundamentals are our first and foremost objective, most of the techniques that we teach at this level are basic but very important for building a students foundation. As a result, SHBJJ blue belts will win in a self-defense situation on the street as well as on a competitive level in sport jiu-jitsu matches. This philosophy of teaching both aspects of Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is something that SHBJJ strongly believes in and as a result has made us the largest and most successful competitive team in Shanghai.
All SHBJJ promotions come with a signed diploma from all three instructors
and is registered with the IBJJF under our Black Belt Tony Eduardo.
